Job Description
: An Interior Designer is a creative professional who transforms indoor spaces into safe, functional, and visually appealing areas. They strategically plan space utilization, and actively select color palettes and lighting fixtures to cultivate an inviting ambiance in diverse settings.
• Roles and Responsibilities:
• Execute full design process, from initial sketch through start of production
• Utilize your experience with all phases of Interior Design project deliverables from Concept Design through Construction Administration to realize a successful design concept
• Work independently or with minor oversight to perform assignments including, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning and construction documentation
• Produce mood, material and design presentations independently or with minimal supervision
• Participate in internal and consultant meetings
• Train and mentor junior designers
• Provide extensive and rapid fire knowledge of FF&E vendors and resources to the team
• Be wildly creative and push the boundaries!
• Provide leadership skills and team management with a desire to mentor junior staff
• Assists in marketing efforts and Request For Proposal responses
• Understand the client’s needs, wants, and expectations for the project
• Develop creative solutions that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing, within the constraints of the project budget and timeline
• Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and materials boards for approval by the client
• Manage and coordinate the work of junior designers, drafters, and support staff
• Select and specify furniture, fixtures, finishes, lighting, and other materials to be used in the project
• Source and purchase furnishings, fabrics, and other materials as needed
• Supervise the installation of all materials on site
• Conduct on-site inspections during construction and after completion to ensure that the work meets the specifications
• Keep abreast of new products, materials, and technologies through trade publications, showrooms, and manufacturers’ representatives
• Attend industry events and continuing education courses to maintain knowledge of current trends
• Prepare proposals, contracts, and invoices for clients
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors and contractors
