Job Description

Drafting: Create technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and diagrams using computer-aided design (CAD) software or manual drafting techniques.
Interpretation: Review rough sketches, specifications, and other engineering data to translate into detailed and accurate drawings.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, architects, designers, and other professionals to understand project requirements and incorporate changes as needed.
Precision: Ensure drawings adhere to industry standards, regulations, and specifications, maintaining accuracy and clarity.
Material Selection: Assist in selecting appropriate materials, dimensions, and processes based on project requirements and design specifications.
Documentation: Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and related project documentation.
Quality Control: Review and verify the accuracy of drawings to identify and rectify any errors or discrepancies.
Incorporate Changes: Update drawings to reflect design modifications or engineering changes throughout the project lifecycle.
Communication: Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients to clarify requirements and address concerns.
Adaptation: Stay updated with industry trends, software advancements, and design techniques to enhance drafting capabilities.
Qualifications and Skills:

Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as SolidWorks, or similar tools.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in creating technical drawings.
Understanding of engineering and architectural principles.
Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
Good communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Problem-solving skills to address design challenges and modifications.
Prior experience in drafting or a related field is advantageous.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in drafting, engineering, architecture, or a related discipline is a plus.
Work Environment:

Draftsmen typically work in office settings, collaborating with engineers, architects, and project managers. They may also visit construction sites or manufacturing facilities to gather additional information for accurate drawings.
