Job Description
1. Inspect Fabricated Components: Conduct thorough visual and dimensional inspections of fabricated components at various stages of production to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
2. Material Inspection: Verify the quality and suitability of raw materials and welding consumables, ensuring they meet the required standards and are properly documented.
3. Welding Inspection: Examine welds for defects, including but not limited to porosity, cracks, undercut, and proper joint preparation. Verify that welding processes adhere to approved procedures.
4. Documentation: Maintain detailed inspection records, including photographs, inspection reports, and non-conformance reports. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of inspection results.
5. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues, provide guidance on corrective actions, and verify the effectiveness of these actions.
6. Compliance: Ensure that all fabrication processes adhere to relevant industry codes and standards, such as ASME, AWS, ISO, or other applicable regulations.
7. Material Management: Keep stock of material sent to job worker, allocate items/inputs for individual equipment as per BOM of the equipment and keep stock of balance material and scrap in ERP (Tally), arrange disposal of scrap.
8. Transportation: Arrange transportation for sending raw materials/ fabricated items between job worker locations, suppliers and installation locations.
9. Invoicing: Manage invoicing of labour charges and list of items consumed for the equipment as per BOM.
10. Training: Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies through training and professional development opportunities.
11. Communication: Effectively communicate inspection findings to relevant stakeholders, including production managers, engineers, and quality assurance personnel.
Qualifications:
1. ITI, engineering degree, diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification or associate degree is preferred.
2. Proven experience as a fabrication inspector or in a similar role within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
3. Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
4. Knowledge of fabrication processes, including welding, cutting, and forming.
5. Familiarity with inspection tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and testing equipment.
6. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to upholding quality standards.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in a manufacturing environment.
Qualification – ITI, engineering degree, diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification or associate degree is preferred.
